How we look after your information
What we keep, and why
When you tap a reaction that asks who you are, we keep the first name and the email address you give, and the fact that you joined that Moment. The organisers need both to run it: to know who is coming and to tell you when tables open or plans change.
If you sign in, we also keep the sessions and any passkeys you set up, so that your device can sign you in. We keep the date and version of every document you agreed to, and every contact preference you gave or withdrew, so that we can show you what you agreed to and honour it.
Some people are in the network because an organiser added them from an earlier event's list. If that is you, the organiser told you at the time and holds the record of that.
What we do not do
We do not publish your name or email on any public page. We do not sell or share your details with anyone other than the organisers of the Moments you joined. We do not send you anything you did not agree to receive, apart from the one email that confirms your address.
The email that confirms your address is sent once when you ask for it. Any other email is sent only to people who agreed to receive it about that Moment or that organiser, and each one tells you how to stop.
How long
We keep a Person who tapped a reaction but never confirmed their email for thirty days, then delete them. Otherwise we keep your details for as long as the organisers you joined need them, and delete them when you ask.
Your choices
You can ask the organisers to correct or delete what they hold about you, and withdraw any contact preference at any time. Every past version of this statement stays readable, so you can see what you were told and when.
The operator
The legal identity of the operator of Rally Round, and how to contact it about your information, are published on the page that shows this statement.
